Italian Crescent Casserole

Italian Crescent Casserole is a delicious dish that combines the flavors of Italian cuisine with the convenience of a casserole. Here’s a simple recipe to make it:


  • 1 pound ground Italian sausage
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes, drained
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tube (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese


  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the Italian sausage over medium heat until browned, breaking it up into crumbles as it cooks. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, and cook until the onion is softened.
  3. Stir in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes.
  4. Unroll the crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form a crust.
  5. Spread the sausage mixture evenly over the crescent roll crust.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the top of the sausage mixture.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the crescent roll crust is golden brown.
  8. Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
