Southern Buttermilk Pie

☆Ingredients:

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
3 large eggs
1 9-inch pie crust, homemade or store-bought
1 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Pinch of salt
Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)

☆Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and crimp the edges as desired.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar and flour until well combined.
Gradually add the melted butter to the sugar mixture, stirring until smooth.
Beat in the eggs, one at a time, until fully incorporated.
Stir in the buttermilk, vanilla extract, lemon juice, and salt until the filling is smooth and homogeneous.
Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust.
Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is lightly golden brown.
Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool completely on a wire rack.
Once cooled, refrigerate the pie for at least 2 hours before serving.
Optionally, dust the top of the pie with powdered sugar before serving.
