Creamy Italian Chicken Pasta

1 small onion, finely chopped
1 cup (240ml) chicken broth
1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
1 lb (450g) chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
8 oz (225g) penne pasta
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Salt and pepper to taste
Grated Parmesan cheese for garnish
Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish


Cook Pasta: Cook penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Sauté Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and chopped onion, sauté until fragrant and translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
Cook Chicken: Add chicken pieces to the skillet and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-6 minutes.
Make Sauce: Pour in chicken broth, simmer for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly. Stir in heavy cream, dried basil, and dried oregano. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Let sauce simmer for 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
Combine: Add cooked penne pasta to the skillet, toss until evenly coated with creamy sauce.
Serve: Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese and chopped fresh parsley.
