Breakfast casserole of biscuits and gravy with sausage and eggs

Breakfast casserole of biscuits and gravy with sausage and eggs is an absolute must-make for any event, be it a big holiday gathering, brunch, or just a casual Sunday morning meal.

This is one of my husband’s and mine favorite dinners. This casserole pulls together quickly and simply, even for inexperienced cooks, especially with homemade gravy.

Ingredients

8 ct. Tube of refrigerated biscuits

1 lb. Ground breakfast sausage

2 Packs of country gravy mix

1 Can of evaporated milk

12 Large eggs

Salt and pepper to taste

How to Make a Biscuits and Gravy with Sausage and Egg Breakfast Casserole

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Cook the sausage in a skillet until fully browned. Remove any excess grease.

Reduce the heat to medium. Sprinkle the gravy mix over the meat, then add one cup of evaporated milk and one cup of water.

Mix, and saute until thickened.

In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and 5 oz. of evaporated milk, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.

Scramble the eggs lightly in a skillet over medium heat.

Spread one-third of the meat and gravy evenly in the bottom of a greased 9×13 baking dish. Layer half of the eggs on top.

Add an extra layer of gravy mix, followed by eggs, and finish by topping with the remaining gravy.

Arrange the biscuits atop the casserole and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the biscuits are fully cooked.

Enjoy! ;
